The jury is recognizing a brilliant idea for the often difficult challenge of producing second editions: selected titles from the publishing house’s programme are being reissued as paperbacks in black and white and in a proportionally reduced size. This results in an inexpensive edition that is entirely devoted to the pragmatic purpose of reintroducing the books’ content. Although clearly belonging to the same series, the first three fink twice volumes create an independent impression thanks to their different formats. The attractive cover designs, each showing a pixelated detail from the original cover, also emphasize both the series character and the individuality of the books. The series title is very well chosen. Ironically referencing the publishing company’s name, it also suggests a double meaning of ‘thinking over’: The paperbacks invite readers to engage in fresh thinking about the content and to think again about their decision not to buy the books when they were first published.
